I didn’t buy either of them because I didn’t want to be an “Instant Schmuck“ but I really did enjoy the look of the art. I don’t understand why it all has to be ”instant“ though. Can’t we take our time and enjoy the process?

I now regret not buying these. I’m seriously debating creating a band called “Instant Executioner” and releasing a self-titled “Instant Executioner” EP. Tell me that isn’t a bad ass band name?

Easily my favorite of the franchise. I’ve been watching this on the same Media VHS tape since I was a child…no idea how a 5 or 6 year old me got my hands on it or why it’s so meaningful to me that it’s within arm’s reach of me right now. I get nostalgic fuzzy happy feelings when I watch the opening trailers. Strangely I’ve never seen the Matt Dillon or Beau Bridges movies though.
One of my favorite beats & videos that I’ve put together so far. I sampled a 10 second intro from a completely obscure and ridiculous Christian music record from the early 70’s. I had gotten the record from my Uncle who was a super for an apartment building in the Bronx for years and had a basement full of random things collected through the years. I flipped the sample nicely and made something I still like alot that I still plan on writing a song too. The video has a bunch of dance scenes from different movies; namely Teen Wolf, Nighthawks and Fright Night. I admit that its pretty absurd and the Riki Rachtman quote from “The Metal Years” only adds to it.

The closest we’ll ever get to an oral history of “Dress Sleazy”
My father couldn’t get tickets for the actual Don Mattingly day in ‘97 but he did get me the program at one of those souvenir shops by the Stadium a week later before a game…it didn’t make up for it.

Nothing much to add here. There just ins’t enough Don Mattingly content on my blog for my liking.
A Knicks/Suns Finals in 1994 really would’ve been awesome; especially after that bench-clearing, completely out of control and amazingly entertaining brawl they had during the regular season.
A Brian Borough rehash AND rare correction
I thought the brawl took place during the 93-94 season but it was in March ‘93. Tom Chambers being there is an obvious giveaway. In 2018 both franchises’ seasons would be cancelled, the refs would be publicly executed for letting things get out of hand and Greg Anthony’s outfit would go viral as a meme.
I still stand by the opinion that Knicks/Suns would have been a good Finals especially considering the bad blood from this brawl. Now if the Knicks play the Suns instead of the Rockets, does John Starks still have a nightmare 2 for 18 game at some point? Do the Knicks still lose? Does OJ still kill Nicole? Probably yes to all 3 questions. For all we know in this alternate timeline the Rangers LOSE to the Canucks in Game 7 for whatever reason so let’s just leave it as is.
Such a commercially unappealing album and I love everything about it. Just a bunch of hard records thrown together. I really wish Sticky Fingaz put out more music.

The album wound up being released on October 24th 1995…why didn’t Def Jam have the balls to release a week later on Halloween day? These are the irrelevant tough questions that only I would dare to ask.
